Educational activity in the city…

✨ A little spotlight on a project in progress in the Educational City of Orléans Métropole

Students from Collège Montesquieu are diving into Python programming, 3D, and artistic discovery. 🎨👨‍💻

🚀 The challenge?
For two months, middle school students in the computer science option will create a Python program capable of managing a database of 3D artworks, viewable directly in a browser.

Our starting point?
Learning to code can be just as exciting as a treasure hunt. 🗺️✨

💡 The goal
An exercise inspired by the real-world functioning of BavartApp, allowing students to learn how to structure code and understand how digital artworks are stored, organized, and displayed.

📚 IN-CLASS ACTIVITIES

1️⃣ Introduction
Discovering Python programming, databases… and of course, BavAR[t].

2️⃣ Exploration
Understanding how BavAR[t] manages its collections of 3D artworks.

3️⃣ Development
Students will code a program to add, classify, and organize artworks.

4️⃣ Testing and improvements
Debugging, problem-solving, and optimizing the code.

5️⃣ Final presentation
On May 20, students will present their project during the “Young Researchers’ Meeting” at University of Orléans. 🎓

🎲 Learning to code through play
Creating a game-based project is our way of making programming engaging and accessible.

The students’ program will help them discover key concepts for their studies and future careers—while exploring mathematics, algorithmic logic, and the world of 3D in a playful and creative way.

👏 A huge thank you to Collège Montesquieu and all the students for their commitment to this digital adventure! 🚀
