The Power of Flowers
The Power of Flowers
BavAR[t] and the Musée des Beaux-Arts of Rennes are teaming up for a new series of augmented reality exhibitions! Following the success of Bonnes résolutions and Il y a de l’amour dans l’air, the museum continues to venture beyond its walls, bringing art to the public through outdoor displays.
This time, the collaboration comes to life in the beautiful Parc du Thabor and Parc de Maurepas, where a virtual exhibition invites visitors to discover nine paintings in augmented reality, celebrating the power of flowers in art. This scenic route, perfectly aligned with the floral beauty of the gardens, highlights how flowers have been portrayed in various artistic works, offering an immersive and poetic experience at the heart of nature.
The Musée des Beaux-Arts of Rennes: A Treasure Trove of Art
The museum houses a remarkable collection spanning from Antiquity to the present day. Its painting collection is particularly rich, with highlights including 17th-century French art and geometric abstraction. Additionally, the museum preserves fascinating objects from ancient civilizations (Egyptian, Etruscan, Greco-Roman) and extra-European cultures.
Among its treasures, the cabinet of curiosities of Christophe-Paul de Robien (1698–1756) stands out with exceptional drawings by Leonardo da Vinci, Sandro Botticelli, Albrecht Dürer, and Rembrandt, reflecting the immense richness and diversity of the museum’s collections.
