[Cultural Mediation] An anti-memory-loss experience…

…an activity to reconnect with history!

How do you transmit the emotion of a postcard written from the front line more than a century ago to today’s generations? 🏛️📜

That is the heart of our special collaboration with Le Carton Voyageur – Musée de la carte postale in Baud (Brittany). With a collection of thousands of archives, the challenge is not only to preserve them, but to make them meaningful again.

📍 The concept: History around the corner
Thanks to BavAR[t]’s spatial anchoring technology, we have taken these archives out of museum display cases and placed them back where they resonate the most: in public space.

❌ No scanning required. No QR codes, no physical markers.
✅ Just exploration. Users walk through the space, open BavartApp, click on a digital label, and the camera detects the ground. The 3D content then appears in augmented reality, creating an immediate bridge between past and present.

🎯 Why does it work?

Memorial role: We give a voice back to the people of Brittany during the First World War by placing their stories into our everyday environment.

Playful experience: The visitor becomes an active participant in discovery. Curiosity becomes the driving force of learning.

Transmission: Digital transforms a static archive into a living, shareable experience.

A huge thank you to the teams at Le Carton Voyageur – Musée de la carte postale for their trust. Together, we prove that the most advanced technology can serve the most human cause: memory.
