SNCF Augmented Reality Exhibition: The En Gare Cycle

Stations, memories, starting points for history

“En Gare” is a photographic exhibition cycle led by ONaCVG (the French national office for veterans and war victims) and SNCF Gares & Connexions, running through March 2027. Its premise: connecting 5 French train stations to 5 national memorial sites.

In each station hall and at each memorial site, a documented exhibition presents more than 80 previously unpublished photographs and archival documents — freely accessible, no booking required.

## Augmented reality extends the exhibition from Saint-Raphaël onward

Starting with the Saint-Raphaël stage, the BavAR[t] app complements the physical exhibition with augmented reality animations, interactive quizzes and audio narratives — a digital layer designed to add to the documented exhibition rather than simply repeat the same visuals.

## The stages of the cycle

– Lyon-Part-Dieu → National Memorial of Montluc Prison (December 2025) — the cycle’s opening stage, photographic exhibition only.
– Saint-Raphaël Valescure → Memorial of the Indochina Wars, Fréjus (May 2026) — first stage with the augmented reality layer.
– Verdun → Fleury-devant-Douaumont National Necropolis (September 2026) — next stage.
– Toulon → Memorial of the Provence Landing and Liberation (October 2026).
– Strasbourg → Natzweiler-Struthof Memorial (March 2027).

## A cycle supported by many partners

“En Gare” exists thanks to ONaCVG, SNCF Gares & Connexions, ECPAD, Fédération Nationale André Maginot, La France Mutualiste, Les Gueules Cassées and Bleuet de France — alongside the BavAR[t] team.

France counts 10 national memorial sites. “En Gare” connects 5 of them to everyday train stations, so history crosses travelers’ paths without them having to seek it out.
